Wednesday, 01 February 2012 08:23
Beside the Olympic Games or world championships the X-Games are the most important event in the discipline ski cross. Unlike 2010 Chris Del Bosco did not dominate this year's ski cross final in Aspen from the beginning, but had to fight hard for the victory. Thanks to his experience and excellent technique, he could catch up in the middle part of the course.
After the race, he says confidently: “Oh man, I feel great. It’s been kind of an up and down season and I was hoping to come here and have a big day. I’m feeling good about my skiing and it all came together.” The reigning world champion Del Bosco is still not yet satisfied. He would like to participate again next year and wants to be the first who wins the ski cross title two years in a row.
Del Bosco reached the second place last year.

The winner of the 12.5 km mass start race at the World Cup in Antholz is Darya Domrcheva. After two missed targets at the beginning of the race she was only at the 26th place. Through intense concentration and the desire to win Darya Domrcheva remained flawless and could fight her way to the fore.
She seems to like such catch-up races and said at the press conference: "It looks like I’m even more motivated after a bad start." And so she overtook Anastasiya Kuzmina and Magdalena Neuner, who achieved the second and third place.

Immediately after the race Domrcheva Darya says: "I haven’t talked to my coach yet, the race way too frenzied. But he hugged me and I could read in his eyes that he was very happy."
